Swimming Programs
All of our swimming and aquatic programs follow the standards and curriculum developed by the Lifesaving Society of New Brunswick. These nationally recognized programs are designed to teach essential swimming skills, water safety, and drowning prevention through a structured and progressive approach.
PARENT AND TOT
The Parent & Tot program is designed to introduce young children to the water in a safe, fun, and supportive environment alongside a parent or caregiver. Through guided activities, songs, and play-based learning, children build comfort in the water while developing early swimming and water safety skills.
The program emphasizes positive water experiences, bonding time, and gradual skill development based on each child’s age and readiness. Certified instructors provide guidance to help parents support their child’s learning and safety in and around the water.
Levels are structured by age:
- Parent & Tot 1: 4–12 months
- Parent & Tot 2: 12–24 months
- Parent & Tot 3: 2–3 years
PRESCHOOL
The Preschool Program is designed for children aged 3 to 5 years old and focuses on building comfort, confidence, and independence in the water. Through fun, structured activities, children develop essential swimming skills while learning important water safety habits.
This program introduces foundational skills such as entries and exits, floating, gliding, kicking, and basic movement in the water. As children progress through the levels, they gain confidence in deeper water, improve their coordination, and begin swimming short distances on their own.
Delivered by certified instructors, the program follows a progressive approach that supports each child’s development while promoting a positive and safe aquatic experience.
SWIMMER
The Swimmer Program is designed for children aged 5 and older, from beginners to those looking to refine their swimming skills. Through a structured and progressive approach, participants develop strong swimming techniques, endurance, and confidence in the water.
The program focuses on essential skills such as entries and exits, floating, gliding, kicking, and coordinated strokes including front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke. As swimmers progress through the levels, they improve their distance, speed, and overall efficiency while learning advanced skills like dives, treading water, and interval training.
Delivered by certified instructors, the program emphasizes in-water practice, skill development, and water safety education at every level.
