Public Skating Helmet Requirement — Effective February 1, 2026
Starting February 1, 2026 all participants in Public Skating must wear a CSA-certified ice helmet while on the ice. Helmets will be available for rent at the front desk (limited quantities). All other programs and activities remain unchanged, as they already meet existing helmet compliance requirements. Thank you for helping us keep skating safe for everyone.
PUBLIC SKATING RULES
No tag games, rough play, or speed skating.
No sticks, pucks, or other equipment unless approved.
No sitting or kneeling on the ice.
No food or drinks on the ice surface.
SHINNY / PICK-UP HOCKEY RULES
No slapshots.
No body contact (no checking).
Sticks down: no high-sticking or dangerous play.
Respect goalies & space; stop if staff calls a halt.
Follow staff instructions (unsafe behaviour = removal).
